Intellectual property-

Intellectual property is designed to help the protection of designs or ideas. For example,  lyrics and the design of certain things. You  need to have the permission of the owner to copy the ideas or design otherwise it is illegal. The most common type of intellectual property is called copy right.

Copyright law-

The law is when somebody has their work copied or stolen without their permission. It isnt copyright if you state that it isnt your idea/work etc..and if you give credit to the owner. If you do this it is NOT illegal. However, displaying it on the internet or else where and insisting it is your own work is illegal. The copyright law stands for songs, documents, books, names of companies and buisneses.

Unit 35:

Type of file i would use for a band logo on a website: 

First i would use a JPEG because when you zoom out in normal view, the picture doesn't look distaughted and you can get a high quality image without any pixelation, which is good because then it will look more professional on the website. But i wouldn't use this program to create the logo for the side of the van because when you zoom in on the picture the picture becomes pixelated if you want to enlarge it to a bigger scale.The programs you would use for this type of file is adobe Photoshop and fireworks as they are mainly for bitmap/ JPEG image editing.

What type of graphic would i use for a picture and text on the side of a van?

I would use a vector image because unlike bitmaps and JPEG’s, when a vector image has been blown out, it doesn't lose quality and becomes pixelated. Where-as bitmaps do.

I could spread out an image on the side of a van and it would be the same quality as it would be normal size. I would use the programme illustrator for a vector image.

What type of graphic i would use for a nursery school flyer promotion: 

I would use a portable document format. I would use this because if you have a document saved as publisher you can send that document to someone else but only if they have  have publisher downloaded. It also has lots of tools that i can use to create good flyers with.

iMac with extra RAM, Keyboard, Mouse and programs	£5,956	Photoshop was originally designed for iMac. Programs run quicker on it and it has alot of memory. It won’t need upgrading because it has the best equipment.	Expensive to buy and and can sometimes lag or crash.
Epson Stylus C88+ Inkjet Printer	£297	This printer is compatible with systems like iMacs. The colour of the ink is very good quality. It has 2 usb slots so you can connect your memory stick and print from  that.	Doesnt last as long as more expensive printers as it is not as good quality although it does the job that you need it to. It only prints a4 paper sheets so this would therefore be a problem if you needed to print on a3 paper.
Epson MegaPlex MG850 HD Projector	£649.00	This projector is compatible with macs. It has a built in docking system so it is easy to stream from phones and iPhones or even iPads. It is also a HD projector so the pictures will be good quality and so will the sound.	Light bulbs on a projector are expensive to replace and you may need to replace them at somepoint.
Photoshop	£54.99	This program is good for editing photos and works well on mac because it is the computer system it was originally designed for.	You have to learn how to use it at first  because its complicated and difficult to understand but after that it is great for editing photos.

Apple Speakers	£39.95	These speakers have excellent sound quality. Also they are fairly small so they are portable so you can take them anywhere and they won’t take up too much space.	The speakers are quite small so they might not be able to go very loud although the sound quality would still be very good. They also would not be very effective for big audiences because they would not project the sound very far.

To send a contact from one phone to another you need to go onto your contacts and select the contact you want and then you can send it by Bluetooth. To do this you need to go to send, via Bluetooth  and then once you get onto Bluetooth select the device you are looking for, this should then start the transmission. The positive aspects of this way of transmitting pictures is that it is fast, easy, it is free and anybody can do this as long as there phone has Bluetooth on it. The negative aspects are you have to be in range with the person you want to send it to, sometimes it doesn't work because of some errors, and Bluetooth could be dangerous as anybody can connect and get a hold of your private info on your phone. Another way you could send the picture is through messaging. You simply get the   persons phone number and attach the picture to the message and send it.

I would pick the HTC because it has bigger screen than the nokia tablet which has a 3 inch screen and it also has a longer battery life. Although the nokia tablet has bluetooth the Htc has a 8mp camera which would probably come in more useful for the purpose needed. The touch screen is quick which is good for a student on the go or if they are doing homework it will be much quicker and more straight forward.

Ipod nano-

The iPod touch is a good choice and I would have chosen this over the Ipod nano but I had to think about the owner because they may have wanted a more simple device that is easier to use such as the Ipod nano.

I chose the over the macbook pro as its easy to work and it is portable and smaller so it is more suitable for the builder. It also has lots of programs which could help when he is designing plans  for houses etc...

-theft, hacking, wardriving, piggybacking all have consequences of some type.

UNIT 14 M2

The main differences between sending photos through WiFi and on your phone are . . .
Sending photos through WiFi are free, whereas if you are using a phone there could be extra additional charges.
It’s free to send images through Bluetooth, but to do this you need to be within range of the recipient. If you use WiFi it will take less time, rather than sending photos through 3g or Bluetooth because the connection will be more reliable.

Unit 14 M1

To keep protocols safe you should put a password on ALL your accounts. The password should be quite complicated to guess and you shouldn't tell anyone. This should hopefully prevent your accounts from being hacked. However, this does not always protect your accounts. You should also change your password every couple of weeks to ensure nobody can guess it or hacks into your account.  Make sure when you close a window, for example your emails, make sure to log out! Bluetooth can be quite easy to hack as the code is easy to read. Wi-Fi  is protected by W.A.P which means it is harder to hack unless you have a password. However if your Wi-Fi is "open" this is not the case as it is easier to hack. Encryption can be used to protect data because it scrambles data. So, if your data was hacked, the person who hacked your account wouldn't be able to see it anyway.
